Videoconference room with new technologies
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of STU in Bratislava is one of the leading universities and has been providing high-quality teaching in mechanical engineering fields for students from all over the world for more than eight decades.
In the main building is located in the center of Bratislava, we were given the task of converting an old meeting room into a technologically modern video conference room.
We designed and delivered new audiovisual technologies to the STU Faculty of Engineering in their largest meeting and conference room, which took the use of the room to a new professional level.
Special ceiling microphones for videoconferencing
In the conference room, it was necessary to ensure the recording of high-quality, clear sound during video conferences, in which a large number of people are usually sitting. We have designed special ceiling microphones with beamforming technology as the most suitable solution for the given type of room. This beamforming technology automatically directs the beams of the ceiling microphones to the speaking people and filters out reflections from the walls and background noise. With the help of this ceiling microphone, it is possible to delimit the area to be recorded very effectively.
As a certified system integrator of audiovisual technologies, MediaTech pre-programmed the ceiling microphones and the direction of their beams in a specific space.

Line-array loudspeakers
In addition to special microphones, we also designed and delivered a PTZ camera and touch monitors to the room, which serve as whiteboards and also transmit the image to the video conference.
We used 2 loudspeakers with Line-array technology to sound the room. These Line-array speakers radiate only in a straight direction, which creates fewer reflections in the given room and thus the sound is more understandable in the entire space.
The entire system is controlled via a user-friendly programmed touch panel. Participants in the meeting room can connect to the presentation either wired or wirelessly from all PCs via the Crestron Air-Media interface. The system designed in this way meets all requirements not only for a videoconferencing solution but also for sound and presentation at university meetings.
